Within this study, different time-scale-based procedures like correlation and spectral evaluation (CSA), cross wavelet (XWT), and wavelet coherence transform (WCT) have been applied to assess the response of each day rainfall and karst spring discharge for the Sebaou River basin, which is positioned on Mediterranean basin in northern Algeria. The CSA revealed that the hydrogeological systems under study are characterized by many memory effect (little, poor, reduced, and in depth) with regularization instances ranging from 5 to 50 day. XWT between rainfall and discharge time series indicates few marked disruptions within the spectra involving the 1980s and 1990s corresponding for the dry period. The annual procedure is visible, dominant, and more amplified when compared with the Pinacidil medchemexpress multi-annual fluctuations that characterize the 1-3and 3-year modes, which explained the multi-annual regulation. The nonlinear relationship in the short-term elements seems to be linked for the periods of storage (infiltration). When compared with the WCT elements of 2, 26, and 52 weeks, there’s a sturdy coherence for 102 weeks, which explains the long-term component, indicating a quasi-linearity from the rainfall-runoff connection. As outlined by the obtained results, the building of extra water sources structures is suggested to raise the water storage and boost the water supply due to the richness of your hydrographic network. On the other hand, the impacts of human activities on streamflow due to the looting of rocks and sands inside the Sebaou River valleys have reached alarmingly high levels that need urgent intervention for the protection of water and ecological resources and their better rational use.
